About
If you are on this page, you are most likely at a transition in your life — searching for your bearings within familiar patterns, or trying to cope with changing circumstances. You are in a deeply human place. Welcome.

“Resilience is not individual heroism; it is the ability to rise again after every fall and return to your own center.”
My path began with understanding people and their limits. After studying Psychology and Sociology at Middle East Technical University (METU), I spent 20 years leading crisis and change management processes in the corporate world. Corporate life taught me a great deal, but in time I wanted to experience what limits and uncertainty truly mean in a more exposed arena. That is why I left my career behind and set out to sea.
Becoming the first Turkish woman to sail solo across the Atlantic, holding the Turkey Tour record, or passing through demanding waters like Cape Horn are, to me, far more than titles. On the vast open sea, alone with the storms and my own mind through those sleepless nights, I saw something very clearly: psychological resilience is not waiting for the storm to pass. It is staying composed among the waves, accepting the reality of the moment, and being able to redraw your own course with flexibility. The sea taught me not to give up, but to bend when needed and to show myself compassion.
I placed this methodology of crisis management and mental flexibility — one I tested firsthand on the open seas — at the very center of my clinical practice. Bringing together my international specializations in couple and family dynamics, Schema Therapy, Trauma, and Positive Psychology, I offer my clients a structured, resilience-based roadmap. Today I continue this holistic approach under the umbrella of Cesaretle Yaşam (Living with Courage).
These days, in both my individual sessions and the psychological resilience workshops I run for organizations, I focus on the same purpose: guiding individuals and teams to find their inner compass in moments of crisis, to manage uncertainty, and to emerge mentally stronger from the changes life brings.
Life is full of uncertainties that unfold beyond our control. If you too feel you have lost your way in your own story right now, you do not have to walk this journey alone. If you are ready to redraw your course on firmer ground, we can move forward together.
With love, Başak Mireli
